High-Performance Programming

A: Training Group Support

This will be funding for high-performance training groups to assist our athletes in achieving greater international success.  Eligible groups would be based in Nova Scotia and in good standing with their Provincial Sport Organizations.

Funding amount: $54,000

Funding criteria/evaluation:
The following criteria will be considered when determining funding from this program:

1. Annual high-performance plan, including competitive structure and training put in a quadrennial context.
2. Multiple National team athletes as identified by the NSO through Sport Canada carding or national team participation
3. Fit of the plan within the Long-Term Athlete Development Model
4. Potential for results at the international level
5. History of result at national/international level
6. Daily exposure to appropriate level coaching
7. Presence of adequate and accessible facilities
8. Budget

The annual evaluation for programs receiving funding form this area will be based on agreed upon measure of the plan and an examination of the criteria listed above.

Allocation process:
Allocations will occur every year.  Proposals for the fund will be developed in conjunction with the Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic.  Recommendations on allocations will be provided to a Support4Sport review committee with representation from SNS, NSHPP, and a representative form the sport community.  All funds will be managed by the Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic on behalf of the training groups.

Application/allocation timeline:
The application deadline in March 1st annually.

Reporting Process:
Annual reports are due by March 1st each year. Funding for the following year will not be provided until annual report from previous year is received. Reports must include:

1. Outline of main activities
2. Summary of performance results
3. Debrief on key leaning from year
5. Outline of actual budget.

Any organization receiving funding who does not submit a final report will be ineligible to receive funding from Support4Sport programs until a final report is submitted.
