Natasha Johnson to fill role of Interim Coaching Lead with CSCA and Sport Nova Scotia

The Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic (CSCA) and Sport Nova Scotia announced today that Natasha Johnson has been selected to fill the role of Interim Coaching Lead. Natasha replaces Mark Smith who, after 16 years in key leadership roles with Sport NS and CSCA, was recruited by Softball Canada.

Natasha is an experienced leadership professional with extensive knowledge in program implementation and design, coaching and nonprofit business management. For the past six years she has been Sport Development Manager with Canada Snowboard. More recently, she complemented that work serving as High Performance Director with Snowboard NS. During that time she spear-headed numerous outcomes including: the curriculum review and approval process and implementation of four (4) National coaching program contexts; training and leading all of Canada’s top snowboard coaching educators, the Master Learning Facilitator and Master Evaluator team as well as lead the Experts Group of coaches who review and create the program curriculum; creating and leading a national professional development webinar series, and; reaching Notable Attainments in Attendance & Podiums of Junior Worlds, World University Games, Canada Games, National and Junior Nationals, to name a few.

An NCI Advanced Coaching Diploma graduate, Natasha is a Chartered Professional Coach and a member of the NSO Executive with the Coaching Association of Canada and was awarded Coach of the Year in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2013. She was also the head coach of the NS Freestyle Snowboard Team at Canada Games in 2007, 2011 and 2015. Her experience extends to softball where she is a level 3 coach, baseball where she is a level 2 coach, trampoline where she is a level 2 coach, skiing where she is a level 1 coach, and rhythmic gymnastics where she is a level 1 coach. She is also a field lacrosse referee. 

Natasha is a dynamic and positive individual who brings energy, professionalism and proficiency to everything she does.
