A Special Message to Supporters of the Annual KidSport™ Easter Egg Hunt
As we all hope for spring to soon arrive, many of you may be thinking about Easter and the annual KidSport™ Easter Egg Hunt. However, Sport Nova Scotia regrets to inform you this event will no longer take place.
For the past seven years, Nova Scotians across the province have made this event part of their Easter weekend and by participating they have helped to support KidSport™. We are truly grateful to everyone for your enthusiasm and support.
Each year, Cadbury and Sport Nova Scotia, and many other sponsors, joined forces to create this fun event. This year, Cadbury announced a new marketing policy, which has a direct impact on this event. We are sorry to see this partnership end but applaud them for their years of support; and, we look forward to working with them in the future. Below is a statement from Cadbury.
“We have truly enjoyed supporting the annual KidSport Easter Egg Hunt over the last several years and while we would very much like to continue this relationship, we have made the difficult decision to end our sponsorship. Since joining the Children's Food and Beverage Advertising Initiative, Cadbury has pledged not to market to children under 12 years of age. This includes elements such as advertising, online tools and games and events that specifically target children. We are very proud to be a part of this initiative and we are committed to upholding its principles. We wish to thank everyone at Sport Nova Scotia for their unwavering investment and the community of Nova Scotia for allowing us to celebrate the holidays with you. We wish everyone a very healthy, happy and safe Easter season.” -- Cadbury.
At Sport Nova Scotia we will continue to raise funds for KidSport™ through other initiatives and as we develop them, we hope you will support these new events.
Thank you again for your support over the years and we wish each of you a happy and fun Easter.
