Suzie Ketene's KidSport Fundraiser
On April 30th, Suzie Ketene will be embarking on a 1,150km, nine-day mountain bike race called the Trans Portugal Garmin: http://www.trans-portugal.com/indexIng.htm which starts in the northeast (Braganca) and finishes in the southwest (Sagres). The terrain includes forest tracks, dirt roads, and steep cliff-top single track. She will be one of 65+ participants from around the world, one of five Canadians, and one of six women. If she makes the entire journey, she will have climbed 24,500 vertical metres in nine days!
Suzie says: "I have been fortunate enough to have had a life filled with organized team and individual sports, and I could not imagine a child’s life without such critical team-building, and healthy activity. Thus, this fundraising drive". Suzie's MTB accomplishments include provincial titles in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Quebec between 1995-2000 and a National title in 1998.
Suzie has two goals; to raise $1,150, one dollar for every kilometer of the race, and to complete the race!
