Doctors Nova Scotia presented the inaugural Taste of Gold on November 4, 2008, and successfully celebrated all things ‘Nova Scotia’. Taste of Gold aims to raise funds for Nova Scotia athletes, from the playground to the podium . All proceeds to the Fund will stay right here in Nova Scotia, and will support two programs vital to our sporting system: Sport Nova Scotia’s KidSport program, which provides resources for children to take part in sport, and the Taste of Gold Fund, which supports high performance sport training groups through the Canadian Sports Centre Atlantic (CSCA). By providing funds to Nova Scotia children, training groups, athletes and coaches, athletes at every level will be positively impacted. The Taste of Gold program includes athlete visits to local schools, and an evening event at which guests ‘tour’ regionally inspired food stations from across the province, talk to Olympic athletes and local chefs, bid on exciting auction packages and enjoy entertainment. The next Taste of Gold will happen on November 10, 2009 at the World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax. For more information, please contact tasteofgold@zed.ca. |
