Who can apply?
· This type of membership is open to single provincial sport organizations only.
Qualifications
· Principles and mission of the organization must be in keeping with those of Sport Nova Scotia;
· Registered and currently active under the Societies Act of Nova Scotia
· Must have submitted the most current bylaws and named officers/directors to be on file at Sport Nova Scotia for public record;
· The body substantially fulfills the Sport Canada definition of a sport and is recognized by its National Sport Organization if one exists and is the sole, or Office of Health Promotion, Sport and Recreation Division recognized, representative body for its sport in Nova Scotia;
· Office of Health Promotion, Sport and Recreation Division is recognized to be eligible for Sport and Recreation Administrative Centre subsidy;
· Has insurance coverage protecting volunteers, employees, and the organization;
· Has policies and procedures to prevent and/or address abuse/harassment.

· Two votes at any general meeting of the Society
· Full access to programs, services and consultations
Associate Membership
Associate membership is open to multi-provincial sport organizations only. If you require further information, please contact Helen Goodwin at 425-5450 ext. 327 or hgoodwin@sportnovascotia.ca.
Who can apply?
· This type of membership is open to multi-sport provincial organizations only.
Qualifications
· Principles and mission of the organizations must be in keeping with those of Sport Nova Scotia;
· Organizations must primarily support sport as defined by Sport Canada;
· Must have submitted most current by-laws and named officers/directors to be on file at Sport Nova Scotia for public record;
· Office of Health Promotion, Sport and Recreation Division is recognized to be eligible for Sport and Recreation Administrative Centre Subsidy;
· Registered and currently active under the Societies Act of Nova Scotia;
· Has insurance coverage protecting volunteers, employees, and the organization;
· Has policies and procedures to prevent and/or address abuse/harassment.

Individual Membership
Who can apply?
· Individual membership is open to members of the public who support the principles and mission of Sport Nova Scotia.
Benefits
· Access to Sport Nova Scotia publications and events
Limitations
· Individual members are non-voting
Affiliate Membership
Who can apply?
· Affiliate membership is open to organizations and groups that have publicly recognized status as a credible organization or body, and share a mutual interest in aspects of Sport Nova Scotia's mandate. Affiliate members need not have consistent, direct involvement with amateur sport.
Benefits
· Access to preferred rate for services available within the Sport and Recreation Administration Centre
Limitations
· Affiliate members are non-voting
Alumni Membership
Who can apply?
· Alumni membership is open to former Sport Nova Scotia or provincial sport organization board members who support the principles and missions of Sport Nova Scotia.

· Access to all promotions, functions and publications
Limitations of membership
· Alumni members are non-voting
Honourary Membership
Who can be selected?
· Honourary members are individuals who have made a long-term contribution to sport development in Nova Scotia through their affiliation and involvement with Sport Nova Scotia. Sport Nova Scotia's board members select these individuals.
