Sport: Field Hockey
Inductee Type: Team
Year Inducted: 1995
Home Town:

Biography: In 1975, fourteen Nova Scotians, one Albertan, and one coach from England combined forces to win the national senior ladies field hockey championship. They claimed the first-ever women’s field hockey title for Nova Scotia with a 3-2 shoot-out win over Alberta. Joan Selig, Judi Rice and Diane Boulanger scored while Katie Didkowski supplied clutch goaltending. The chemistry of the team was remarkable. Many of the players had been playing together since 1968, and the team fed off of the energy of coach Wilfred Hoare, who lived and breathed field hockey.

Members of the team were: Leslie Archibald, Susan (Dunbrack) Beazley, Diane Boulanger, Helen Castonguay, Katie Didkowski, Jean Fahie (manager), Karen Greenman, Wilfred Hoare (coach), Debbie Machon, Anne MacKinnon, Kathy Mullane, Judi Rice, Kim Robson, Joan (Langley) Selig, Nancy Tokaryk, Jocelyn Webb.
